As Research Engineer at the IMRC Center, Sean studies and implements the science of creativity, develops processes that utilize modern techniques in the pursuit of education and the commercialization of arts-focused research, and provides leadership and mentorship to staff, students, and the greater university community. While pursuing his Master of Fine Arts degree from the Intermedia MFA program at UMaine, Sean was integral in designing and implementing many art and technology labs at the IMRC Center. During this time, he also received the Dick Higgins Award for Academic Excellence in 2014 for his work using photogrammetry and color 3D printing. Sean’s installation art and sculpture background inform his practical application of aesthetics in modern technical fabrication techniques. When he isn’t installing electric kits in old bikes or playing with his two children, Sean spends free time developing curricula for technical, artistic creation and studying theories in postmodern innovation techniques.
